Please allow this letter to introduce you to the California Homicide Investigators Association (CHIA) and the Annual CHIA Conference for which we are seeking your support.
The California Homicide Investigators Association (CHIA) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1968 when homicide detectives from Los Angeles and San Francisco met over dinner to discuss the Zodiac Killer investigation. This simple dinner gathering grew into what is now the largest organization of homicide and death investigation professionals in the United States. CHIA membership has grown to over 1,900 members that include law enforcement representatives from all over the World.
The mission of CHIA is to provide investigative support, training and networking opportunities to homicide investigators, prosecutors and other death investigation professionals. The cornerstone of our Association is our annual training conference that now attracts over 800 homicide detectives, coroner investigators, support workers and prosecutors from around the world. During this three-day event, the participants attend notable case presentations and training seminars
The Annual CHIA Conference is scheduled to be held on August 24th through August 27th, 2021. This is a great opportunity for your company to receive exposure and help to support a worthy cause.
The California Homicide Investigators Association also has a Scholarship Program, that is designed to provide funds to family member(s) of homicide victims in support of their education and/or job training efforts.
Your support of our conference will allow us to help maintain the fertile environment for networking, individual case evaluations and discussion of techniques with some of the top investigators and prosecutors in the country. CHIA is a registered 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization, FEIN 94-2583294.
